Happy Halloween! Our favorite holiday is right around the corner, and not only do we have a lot of events planned for that, we’ve got quite a bit of awesomeness coming up in the month of November, too!
Starting on Friday, October 26 from 7-9PM, we’ll have the Worcester Storytellers back for their monthly spoken word performance. They will start the evening with an open mic that leads up to the feature performance by Jessica Bane Roberts.
Then, on Saturday, October 27, there is a whole dayevent starting at noon: Spooooky Story Time. Local authors and costumed staff will read their own or their favorite scary stories to children of all ages.
On Sunday November 4, from 2-4PM, author and Vietnam veteran Norman DeLap will be reading and signing from his memoir But I Can’t Shoot Straight Really.
Award-winning science fiction and fantasy author Lois McMaster Bujold will be visiting Annie’s of Worcester on Wednesday, November 7 from 7-9PM to celebrate her newest release from her Miles Vorkosigan cycle, Captain Vorpatril’s Alliance
After that, on Wednesday, November 14, we’ll host A Theological Evening with Perry Jones and Michael Hoosagian from 7-9PM.
And Saturday, November 17, time TBA, authors from the book Chicks Unravel Time will stop in to read and discuss the long and colorful history of Doctor Who!
Also, throughout the month of November, Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester will be hosting write-ins for NaNoWriMo. Fridays between 10 AM and 7PM, intrepid writers can drop in and Sundays, we’re scheduling time from 12 to 5 (with the exception of November 4th, when we’ll have our Norman DeLap event). Bring your notebooks, laptops, or other writing implements and find their inspiration in our walls of books!
Finally, don’t forget we still have Spinning Yarns – now moved to Wednesdays when we don’t have events – from 7PM-9PM. Bring your craft or anything you want to work on while we listen to an audiobook or audio drama.
May your lives be filled with beautiful words!
