We had a good February with our Valentine’s sales and excellent events. We rounded out the month with Worcester Storytellers, who were wonderfully accommodating and supportive despite an unexpected problem during their well-attended open mic featuring David Lucht—and we thank all our friends and staff who helped us out!
But, really, we’re SO looking forward to spring here at 65 James Street. Really, REALLY looking forward to spring!
To kick things off, we’ve got Audrey Nicholson coming this Saturday, March 8, from 2-5 PM to share her debut novel Celtic Knots. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a little early with this beautiful novel about one Irish family’s spellbinding story of love, religion, and political tension in Ireland—and the indomitable Celtic spirit that pulls them through.
Speaking of Celtic things and St. Patrick’s Day, watch for our display showcasing titles on Irish and Celtic themes!
March is also Women’s History Month, and we’ve got three women of myth and wonder visiting us on Sunday, March 23, from 2-4 PM to have a panel on using folktales and fables in their writing. Terri-Lynne DeFino, Francesca Forrest, and T. J. Wooldridge talk about the fables, folktales, and more that they researched and created for their novels and stories.
We’ll be finishing up the month of March with the Worcester Storytellers regular Open Mic night on Friday, March 28, from 7-8:30 PM, who will be mixing things up with some poetry! The featured reader will be Richard Fox, who will be sharing from his poetry collection Time Bomb.
So, help us welcome in spring at ABSW at 65 James Street! And may your world be filled with wonderful words.
