Leaves change, clock hands whirl… It’s almost time for “Back to School” for our customers and staff who are students and educators! It’s almost time for new DOCTOR WHO to appear on our televisions, welcomed by fans everywhere! We’ve got lots of new and ongoing happenings to announce here.
Have you squeezed in that last summer reading book? Do you have the reading material for this year? Stop by ABSW on 65 James Street and we’ll do our best with any emergency literary hook-up.
We had a lovely Tax-Free Weekend on the 16th and 17th, and congratulations to L.L. for winning our $50 gift certificate!
August is still going on, and so is our Educator’s Month sale. All month long we’ll be offering special discounts to all educators, from preschool through college.
Special perks include: * A large selection of teaching modules, handbooks, workbooks, and skillbuilder titles from Scholastic, Teacher Created Materials, Frank Schaffer and more. These titles, originally priced between $5.99 up to $39.99, are now just $1.00 per copy!
* An additional 10% discount to classroom teachers who present their MTA card or paystub, college educators who present their paystub, and homeschoolers who present proof of approval of home education from their school district. This means that new books will be sold at a 40% discount from the retail price, rather than the year-round educators discount of 30%, and used books will be sold at a 70% discount from the retail price, rather than the year-round discount of 60%.
The Educators Month discount does not apply to sale cart/final sale merchandise, or to non-book items such as gift certificates, toys, magazines, and kitchen items. Discounts for special orders will be reviewed on a case-to-case basis and applied when possible. Store credit may be applied to used books AFTER discounts have been taken at the register. We will continue to accept Groupon for these sales, but other coupons may not be used in combination with this sale.
THE NEW SEASON OF DOCTOR WHO, STARRING PETER CAPALDI, PREMIERES ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 23RD!!!! WOOO-WHOOOOOOOO!! Stay tuned for announcements of newly-arrived DW merchandise.
Don’t forget: To celebrate, we’re inviting all our fellow fans to be part of our blog by sending us reviews of the new Doctor and new season. We’ll post a selection of those reviews for our Sci-Fi Tuesday blogs for everyone to see. Reviews and op-ed pieces should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
But that’s not all! (There’s a lot of news going on, actually!)
