We at our “bookstore that’s bigger on the inside” at 65 James Street hope everyone had a safe and wonderful celebration of the New Year, and that your 2015 is off to a good start!
Today and tomorrow are the last days for the sale on our new and used children’s Christmas and Hanukkah books. Titles are discounted additional 10% until January 6th. On top of that, we’ve also got a mark-down of our Christmas romance titles. Check out our Sidewalk Sale carts for $1 specials!
Now that we’re onto our first full workweek of the year, we’ve got a lot planned for those of you looking for some fun, educational, and uplifting events.
THIS SATURDAY, January 10 from 2-4PM, we are wishing an early Happy Birthday to Edgar Allan Poe with an Illustrated History of Edgar Allan Poe by Poe scholar Paul Macek. Macek will give a talk about Poe and his life, showing pictures from the book. With 85 stunning illustrations by Gustave Doré, Harry Clarke, Aubrey Beardsley, and others, The Illustrated History beautifully leads the reader from one part of Poe’s life to the next: from Boston to Richmond to Philadelphia to New York, with two timelines clearly outlining the structure of the book.
NEXT SATURDAY, January 17 from 5-7 PM, Medium/Psychic Diane Lewis will be speaking about and signing from her new book, A Little Inspiration. “Being yourself, not to mention being your best self, sometimes can be the hardest task of the day,” is the challenge that A Little Inspiration helps readers through. It’s inspirational messages – full of the love and compassion Diane is known for – help guide readers to discover and live their inner greatness. Originally from the Boston area, Diane Lewis now resides in Central Massachusetts and reads at a number of venues throughout the state and into Connecticut.
Then, rounding out the month, on Saturday, January 24 from 3-5 PM join us for Tea and Faeries with children’s author T.J. Wooldridge as she celebrates the release of her most recent book, The Earl’s Childe.
And don’t forget our regular events.
