Events Buzz: The Most Wonderful Month of the Year (at ABSW)

10052015 - Minion BookmarksHappy October! It’s our favorite time of year at 65 James Street. We are so ready for Halloween and the heart of autumn!

Our Halloween book display is already up, so come and check it out. We’ve also got a very new addition to our stock: Minion Bookmarks! One of our regulars for our Spinning Yarns Craft and Audiobook Social made these cute little guys and is selling them for $2 each. Support the evil cuteness and a local artist with one of these.

We had a great time last week with The Free People’s Artists Workshop who met here last Monday. And we had such a lovely time with Michael J. Cooper and his book The Rabbi’s Knight that we are inviting him back for Sunday, December 13!

So, here is what else is happening this Halloween month…

Monday, October 12; 11:00 – 3:00 PM – Open Crafts for Columbus Day. Want something fun to do with your kids on this day off of school? Bring them in for a Drop-in craft day!

Thursday, October 15; 7:00 – 8:00 PM – Doctor Who Discussion – MISUNDERSTOOD MONSTERS Part II. Join us as we continue the discussion on the Misunderstood Monsters of Doctor Who. (Please be courteous, and no spoilers for this season!)

Friday, October 23; 7:00 – 8:30 PM – Worcester Storytellers featuring Paul McMahon.

Saturday, October 24; 12:00 – 8:00 PMSpooooky Storytime! Join us for our annual Halloween party and story time! Wear costumes, hear excellent stories! The awesome New England Horror Writers will be helping us celebrate. From 12:00-5:00 PM, we will have child-friendly read-aloud time and from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, we will have the really scary stuff for older audiences! Come celebrate ABSW’s favorite time of year.

Monday, October 26; 7:00 – 9:00 PM – Free People’s Artists Workshop

Friday, October 30; 7:00 – 9:00 PM – Larry Correia and Son of the Black Sword. Join best-selling science fiction and fantasy author for an evening event of reading, discussion, and signing his latest book!
