04012017 - Phantom pic

Thank you to everyone who came out for Worcester Storytellers featuring Diane Vanaskie Mulligan this past Friday.  We had a great time with all of you!

If you had a great time at Worcester Storytellers or any other event at Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester at our 65 James Street location, you can leave us a review on TripAdvisor or leave us a review on Yelp.

And as April starts THIS WEEKEND, we’ve got two grand events for you!

On Saturday, April 1, from 12:00 – Close, ABSW Celebrates Phantom of the Opera with Phantom Day!

Join us for a day of drama and celebration as we appreciate the Phantom from novel to movie to stage. Movie critic and author, Paul McMahon, will talk and answer questions about the cinematic representations of the Phantom. Owner Patty Cryan will discuss the original novel. And we will have “Make Your Own Phantom Mask” activites, as well as show the 1925 Lon Chaney Sr. movie.

NEW LINK: Sunday, April 2, 2:00 – 4:00 PM – Kick off National Poetry Month with Judith Robbins and The North End.

Judith Robbins of Maine will be in the store for a reading, signing, and Q & A. Robbins’ first collection of poems, entitled The North End, was recently published by North Country Press and is a memoir in poems of life lived in ethnically diverse, working-class Worcester in the post-World War II era. The second half of the book takes the reader on an up-close experience of life in Maine, where she has lived for all of her married life.
