Happy Spring! This coming weekend we haven’t any events, but we wish our Christian and Jewish friends and family a happy and blessed weekend of holy days.
As it is spring, though, we’ve got our sale carts back out on the sidewalk! Come look at a fresh new selection of books discounted even more from our everyday low prices. We’ve even specifically put together a POETRY sale cart to celebrate National Poetry Month this April. Come and check it out!
Also, don’t forget, we’re still hosting a donation box for Worcester, The City That Reads this year. The box will be in the children’s room or by the register through May 15. Donate new or gently used books for PreK through 8th Grade, and they will be distributed to Worcester students for summer reading. To find out more, check out www.worcesterreads.org.
We had a wonderful time this past with author, illustrator, and owner of Bharat Babies. We were thrilled to have whole families come to check out this great publisher and their books! We still have several of their children’s books and picture books available and signed if you missed the event.
While we don’t anything this coming weekend, The Free People’s Artists Workshop meets TODAY, THIS MONDAY, at 7:00 PM. Are you a writer or an artist looking for critiques of your work? Come join us for an evening of feedback and support!
And we do want to highlight NEXT SATURDAY’S Allevent, A Phantom of the Opera Celebration!
Marking actor Lon Chaney’s 135th birthday, join us for all things Phantom! We’ll be featuring author Paul McMahon, who will be discussing the career of The Man Of A Thousand Faces and Chaney’s contributions to the world of film makeup and prosthetics.
We’ll also be screening the 1925 movie and discussing Gaston Leroux’s novel, Susan Kay’s book PHANTOM, other movie versions of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, and the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. Costumes enthusiastically encouraged and welcomed. Door prizes and giveaways will also be part of the fun.
Schedule of events to be announced once finalized. Please feel free to contact us by phone at 508-796-5613 or via e-mail through our website at http://www.anniesbooksworcester.com/
